We are combining the young chickens with the old flock in the new coop so that my family has only 2 coops to take care of instead of 3 while we are in Italy. So far it is going well and none of the old ones are harassing the young ones. There were some stand-offs, but those resolved peacefully.

The little chicks are really still to young to change the pecking order of the older flock. That will happen in a couple of months.
Our friend Judy will help take care of the plants, and took away some that need repotting or a new home. Here is an antlered Judy, with a branch of a bromeliad. We think it ought to root and start trying to terraform Chilmark, as it does its use pot in West Tisbury.
The sunroom has some new additions. Gus needed to find a home fast for 7 java finches and knew we had a non-breeding pair. The sunroom can easily hold them so he caught them, we went and got them, and released them into the room. Here is the moment before release.
And here you can just see the blur of a java flying madly out of the box.
Please give this a minute of your time.
